A Cycad Blue (Chilades pandava pandava) butterfly I spotted at the Singapore Botanic Gardens inspired this poem.
A Cycad Blue perches
Wings folded
On a palm leaf
Spotted speckles
Spread finely across its wings
Like a work of art-
Finished with
a dot of sunset orange on its edges.
Such is the beauty of nature
God’s own handiwork
